In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 500°F.
Once risen, punch down the dough and stretch it to fit a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
Spread mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, then layer pepperoni slices on top.
Mix crushed tomatoes with Italian seasoning and black pepper, then spread this sauce over the pepperoni.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then cut into squares and serve.
