Using a sharp knife, slice the mushrooms into even pieces, about 1/4 inch thick. Practice maintaining a steady hand for precision cutting.

Mince the garlic cloves finely. Use the flat side of the knife blade to crush the garlic slightly before mincing.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet in a single layer. Allow them to cook without stirring for about 2-3 minutes to develop a nice golden color.
Stir the mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are tender and browned.
