A fun and easy cookie recipe for kids to practice scooping dough onto a tray, learning about portion sizes and coordination.

Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until fluffy using a wooden spoon or mixer.
Per serving
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and continue to mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Using a cookie scoop, help your child scoop out portions of dough and place them evenly on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Make sure to leave some space between each scoop.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow cookies to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
